Coffee Strategy

A Farm-to-Cup Specialty Coffee Model

Orchard Hill is building a differentiated coffee business in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, with a focus on Fine Robusta and Liberica.

The strategy is to develop distinctive coffee profiles, establish consistent quality standards and build commercial relationships with specialty buyers, creating value beyond conventional green coffee sales.

Over time, the business aims to expand selectively into roasting, branded coffee products and direct-to-market channels.

Project Orchard Hill Coffee

Technology-enabled sustainable coffee & agroforestry platform

The project is being developed through phased land, agronomic, operational, technology and investment workstreams.

Selected planting material. Structured field development. Field development is based on grafted planting material, including selected proprietary scion material (Coffea canephora, Robusta), combined with structured block-level development and digital monitoring through the project’s Digital Farm Control Room.

Digital Farm Control Room

From land to insight.

A digital operating layer is being developed to connect farm blocks, field operations, environmental observations, production records and investment gates, with integrated traceability, ESG, satellite mapping and interactive 360° panorama.

Through the Farm OS dashboard, authorized buyers and partners will be able to log in daily to monitor coffee batches, verified origin and block references, available tonnage, quality and moisture data, traceability records, and order and shipment status.

Rural Development Platform

Building opportunity beyond the estate.

The project is designed to extend the benefits of coffee development beyond the estate through engagement with smallholder farmers and rural communities. The platform will support access to improved planting material, agricultural knowledge, climate information, technology, market opportunities and skills development, with a focus on creating more resilient and productive rural livelihoods.

  • Smallholder Development

Support smallholder farmers with improved planting material, agronomic knowledge and practical farm-management capabilities.

  • Women & Youth

Create pathways for women and younger rural participants to access skills, technology, entrepreneurship and opportunities within the coffee value chain.

  • Climate Resilience

Support farming practices, climate information and technology that can improve resilience to weather and production risks.

  • Technology Transfer

Extend relevant farm-management, traceability, data and agricultural technologies beyond the estate where practical.

  • Market Access

Help smallholder producers connect with more structured coffee value chains, quality standards and market opportunities.

  • Rural Livelihoods

Build pathways toward more productive, resilient and sustainable rural livelihoods through participation in the coffee economy.

Programme under development. Impact metrics will be reported only when supported by verified field data.

Parallel Sourcing & Smart Trading

Building market access before our estate reaches maturity.

While Orchard Hill develops its long-term coffee estate, parallel sourcing is intended to establish an earlier route to market rather than relying solely on future farm harvests.

  • Structured Regional Sourcing

We aim to source selected Fine Robusta and other suitable coffee lots through qualified regional suppliers, supported by defined quality assessment and procurement standards.

  • Connected Through Farm OS

Our Farm OS is being developed to support EUDR-related traceability and due-diligence workflows, connecting sourcing records, batch-level quality data, origin information, GIS evidence and applicable compliance documentation. Shipment-level DPP QR codes are designed to help buyers access the supporting records for each lot, with verification status clearly identified.

  • One Standard, Two Supply Channels

As the business develops, externally sourced coffee and our own-farm production are intended to operate as complementary supply channels, building buyer relationships and commercial reach while our estate matures, with quality, origin transparency and responsible sourcing as guiding principles.
